How to make a heatpipe-based cooling system on your own

   If you use 6 mm Thermaltake Big Typhoon heat pipes drill Ô 6.3 mm hole in the processor ingot and ream it to 6.5 mm. Otherwise you will not be able to thrust the deformed end of the pipe! The holes in radiator heat exchanger are 6 mm because you will insert there the plane pipe end (that had finning).
After reaming you can bevel the holes, clean out the details by blowing and wash them in gasoline and proceed to the next stage of the modding.

   We already have copper workpieces for heat exchangers. Now we must devote ourselves to contact surfaces through which the heat will be transferred. This is a very important part of the modding, so be very attentive. If the workpieces haven’t been machined on a milling or grinding machine you may not go beyond grinding of heat removing surfaces. Respectively work up thoroughly one side of each ingot. You can use the  grinding guide. The result is following.
 

   Thus, the last stage goes. It is heat pipes shaping. The procedure is important and must be done in no haste. I mention one more time that by this moment the cabinet design must have been thought over, cooling radiator must have been mounted in proper place, the motherboard must have been screwed on, heat removers fasteners must have been thought over and made. All other computer cards and devices must be dismounted out of the cabinet. Heat exchangers must be fastened to their designed places. Put the heat remover on the processor, having interlayed it with a thin piece of paper to protect polished surfaces against scratches.

  First model the construction, make wire patterns. It’s convenient to use solder pieces of proper length… The pipes are very thin. They will not sustain recast at least if you are not an experienced workman. Even experienced workmen can fail… That’s why you should analyze all the construction thoroughly before proceeding to bending and unbending of pipes.
If you have accomplished all the recommendations stated above you may start bending the pipes after our wire models. The pipe must not alter its configuration and become flat. If this happens it may cause the pipe’s characteristics impairment and even its damage.
