How to make a heatpipe-based cooling system on your own

  Heat pipes unbend easily. To do this, you may put the pipe’s end into the opening of the heat exchanger ingot having lubricated it before with machine oil. Bevel the opening not to damage the pipe. If you use Big Typhoon heat pipes don’t straighten the factory shaped right angle in full. This is not necessary as a rule. Otherwise the heat pipe will crack. The Thermaltake heat pipes bend easily with the help of such home-made pipe-bending device.
 

   You can do it manually as well; the main thing is not to flatten the pipe in the bend. For that reason put the bending part in a groove. It’s easy to make such a groove; it’s enough to grip in a vice a drill of 6.2 mm diameter. Be attentive because the pipes break easier than it may seem.
