Silent computer

Our answer to Zalman: 0dBA project, rev.1

But it was much more difficult to solve the case side problem. I needed to do a cut for radiator in it and when I was finishing it my Ferm cutting device broke. And it’s again because of bearings. I was finishing the cut with a hacksaw blade and the result is quite good. Then I mounted the side and I put the computer on its place, in my computer table.
But it was a mistake. It turned out that passive systems have its disadvantages. One of them is the necessity of good ventilation. In the small niche of a computer table the temperature began to rise and I cut some ventilating holes in the table to lower the temperature. After these operations my computer worked silently nearly for a month.
And then I took it to pieces again. I had a possibility to buy some copper. And the next day I went to the factory with a piece of copper 6 cm width and 6 mm in thickness. I decided to change processor heat-exchanging device and a plate, conducting the heat away from the mother board back side. And using the increased width of a new thermo block I attached one more pipe. That’s what I’ve got:

By the way, resin-like thermo-sealing, isolating copper plate from the socket legs –that’s pure and simple Radial thermo glue.
I decided to attach the seventh pipe to a separate radiator.

Fallout, fall PC design - post nuclear case mod
Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
