Silent computer

Home-made case for fanless computer.

So said so done. To mount one more fin, I cut a 3,5 mm groove with an angle grinder (I take a 3,5 mm disk and cut). Then I cut out an additional fin having T-lug below from 3,5 mm aluminium plate.

The fin must fit into the groove hardly. I drive it in with a lump hammer and expand it in with a hammer from the backside. I do the same with the second radiator.

Now we must fasten the radiators with bolts and grind them in to the case wall. It is noticeable only at close examination… In actual fact nobody will notice it.

High-quality grind-in is a recipe for good operation of cooling system. Don’t do careless work…

This is my final result. Don’t pay attention to the surface imperfections around radiators. I eliminated them later :) Also, here I wrote about homemade radiator.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
