Laser cutting for modding – practical suggestions.

During laser cutting you should take into account one more thing. It is always concealed the same as the hail. It’s thermal action, burning out of paint on the cutting edges. It's not a big problem, but you should be ready to scrape old paint and to repaint the component. If you want to cut polished stainless steel, which is covered with film, you should remove this protective covering, otherwise it will stick to heated metal.

Hail effect and paint burning are usual for metals, there is almost no fume on plastics (the temperature of cutting is smaller), or coke can be removed with protection film (organic glass is covered with it) and hail can be easily removed with your nail. But there is one more problem with organics, which is hard to remove. If there is excess of power of cutting beam edge can be carbonized with small bubbles. If you need to cut wooden components, take into account that the edge would be black and burnt.

| Non-constructive thoughts about modding... |
All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
