  If you want to polish the glass edge, you’d better do it with water. Thin trickle of water and patience and the edge will look great.
 

  If you’ll take fine glass paper and then polish paste, the edge will be clear. You can also pickle the edge with hydrofluoric acid.
 
  How to saw glass.
  Glass is easily cut with grinder or diamond disk. You should do it with water to make an expensive disk less depreciation and to make cutting edge smoother. Glass can be cut with handsaw with blade of carbide wolfram. Such blades can be bought at any construction market.
 

  The same situation is with water. It's easy to fill a plastic bottle and to give it to your assistant. One bottle is for 15-20 minutes of cut.
