Soldering for beginners.
Let’s start. I f the soldering iron is new you should sharpen and heat it. It’s easy. Turn it on and wait. After first turning on grease usually burn off with fume, don't be afraid it’s not dangerous. After heating a soldering iron, sharpen the working area for 15-20 with a file and at once put it into colophony before it can acidify then put it in solder alloy.

Move your hand round to speed up the process. That’s all. There are soldering irons with soldering tip made of ceramics. You should clean it with a special wet sponge. When the copper wire is burned off you should repeat this procedure.

It's very important that soldering surfaces are clean, without paint, lacquer or corrosion. If it's not clean fix it with a thread file, scalpel or small grain sandpaper. Put some flux on a soldering surface with a brush; take some solder alloy with a soldering tip and solder. It’s all easy, but you need more experience. You won't do it well from the first time. Lay soldering tip closely to the surface for effective heat conductance. Soldering should be fast and quality. Don’t forget about details overheating. If you don’t succeed from the first time wait for detail to cool down. Choose time for soldering yourself. If it’s too short the detail won’t heat and it would be bad soldering. Put flux just before soldering when all preparations are done not to vaporize it.

You can see if the soldering is good, the soldering alloy is a thin and smooth layer and it shines. There are no overlaps, splits or gray spots. When the wires are spun the soldering would be harder. I recommend you to train on an old tape recorder. To prevent short circuit put a piece of isolating pipe of appropriate size. Or wire it with insulating tape.

| Non-constructive thoughts about modding... |
All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
